Just doing a quick check-in while packing for a trip down to San Diego.  The last few days have been really great and included dinner and a birthday party in Pasadena, the launch party of Guest of a Guest at the Mondrian, "Hot Tub Time Machine" at the theaters, and a leisurely brunch at Bottega Louie downtown.

My good friend Kara turned the big 2-4 and she and her friend threw a fun bash to celebrate.  There were good tunes, good drinks, and good convo all around.  I totally missed the memo on the luau theme but I really liked how festive everyone else was looking.

I attended the launch party for LA's Guest of a Guest and ran into some familiar faces such as Armie Hammer (of recent "Gossip Girl" fame) and the Winklevoss bros (of Beijing Olympics notoriety).  I've signed on to be a regular contributor to the blog and I hope you'll check out my future pieces!

The event was at the Mondrian's "Sky Bar" and the drinks were sponsored by VeeV.  I really love VeeV, the acai spirit.  I understand it's all hype, but I still think it's smoother than most vodkas and I can totally buy into the antioxidant powers of the acai.

B and I caught this flick Saturday night.  I was a bit nervous that it would be a total flop and my movie picking privileges would be revoked.  Thankfully, John Cusack delivered a cleverly funny but completely stupid movie.

And we enjoyed a rare brunch opportunity this morning at the charming Bottega Louie.  The "LA Breakfast" for me, the breakfast sandwich for B, and roasted potatoes to share.  It's been a lovely three days indeed.
