I finally got around to reading the Demi Moore piece in the April 2010 issue of Harper's Bazaar and I love this snippet about her and Ashton's romance:

[...] She sees more in fashion than just clothes.  "I met Roland Mouret the other night, and he said, 'Fashion is a language without words.'  That's why I love it."

When Demi met Kutcher at a play in New York in 2003, she was doing "dress up" --to be specific, wearing a strappy blue Proenza Schouler cocktail dress.  In short, she winks, it was "the dress that gets results." [...]  "It was an effective evening.  It was a life-changing evening."

[...] "I knew it had the potential to be something special right away," she says.  "It was like meeting somebody that I've just known where you just recognize one another.  It was so disproportionate, the level of emotion we were experiencing to the time we had spent together.  But when you don't know someone, you can't just jump and say 'I love you.'  'Nice to meet you, I love you!'  Yeah.  No.  We used to end our calls or e-mails with 'And everything we don't say.'  It just seemed too much, too soon." (Harper's Bazaar, p. 222.)

I remember February of 2009, feeling that initial feeling of "Hello, nice to meet you -- so, I just know we are meant to be together."  Obviously, those words never escaped from my mouth, let alone the fact that he was unavailable.  Instead, I thought how curious it was for the universe to show me such an initial connection without giving me the opportunity to have it.

Fast forward a year, and it's all sorted itself out.  But that feeling of taking things slow is surely still there.  I think Demi reveals a good point that even if you're really feeling it, you still need to let things be functions of time (something I was not so good at once upon a time).  In the mean time, I plan to just keep wearing those dresses "that get results" and to enjoy this feeling of falling -- whether it's into love or not.
